ADVENTURE RAID WORLD SERIES

JON ANDER ARAMBALZA

Born in Bilbao (Basque Country) in 1978, Jon Ander was brought up on the basis of sport and the mountains.

His training as a mountain guide led him to discover adventure races in 1999, motivating him to run his first race in the French Pyrenees in the Salomon Xtrem World Cup.

He has been living in Mallorca for more than 20 years, dedicating himself to outdoor sports and personal coaching.

His extensive and experienced curriculum has more than 50 expedition races being his most outstanding results: 1 World Championship, 15 victories in ARWS World Cups and 3 second places in World Cups.

TRAIL

BENITO PÉREZ LÓPEZ

Has participated in several big races such as Trail de Serra de Tramuntana, UTMB (Ultra Trail de Mont Blanc), ULTRA PIRINEU, Transvulcania, Transalpine-run etc.

This year he is participating in:

 UTMB Montblanc 55km and 3500d+.

Mallorca 5000  67km and 5000d+.

SWIMMING

MARC SÁNCHEZ TORRENS

International swimmer, born in Palma who, after 6 seasons of training between Barcelona and Madrid and participating in the Olympic Games in Rio, decided to return to his hometown.

In addition to participating in Rio, Marc has competed in world championships and European championships and has been champion of Spain more than 40 times. The last seven gold medals were achieved last December in the Sabadell national championship.

He also holds the records in Spain of 800 and 1500 free and 4×200 relay.

The main objective for this season is to continue to enjoy swimming and reconcile training with his university studies.

SWIMMING

XAVI TORRES
 
 

Paralympic champion in various categories. This elite Mallorcan athlete has one of the most successful CVs in Spanish sport, with a total of 16 medals in Paralympic Games: 5 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze, as well as several world records.
Among his merits in swimming, which have been recognized with the gold medal for sporting merit in Spain and also in France, there are several world and European championships and runners-up, 123 Spanish championships and a total of 56 international Open.

CYCLING

TEAM POP EYES PORTIXOL GROUP

The Team Pop Eyes Portixol Group is an Amateur Cycling Team based in Austria. The goal of the Team is to offer the members the most professional environment to train and compete in races. The Team consists of 15 riders from Austria, Germany and Italy. They are participating at Gran Fondos in and around Austria. 

Daniela & Andreas Traxl-Pintarelli are the owners of the Team. They have been involved in cycling for many years and have achieved many great successes like 3 wins of the Tour Transalp, a 7 day stage race from Germany to the Gardasee in Italy, several medals at Austrian Championships and many places at the podium at famous Gran Fondos. 

Now they are parents of twins and their sons Luca and Elia are already addicted to cycling.

SAILING

SEAN McCARTER
 
Having grown up on the water, Sean is aiming to compete in sailings toughest event;

The Vendee Globe 2020 race. Every four years 30 sailors race 30,000 miles alone, non-Stop, without assistance around the world.

Sean has already sailed around the world twice, most recently in the Clipper Race when his team Derry-Londonderry made Global News headlines for successfully recovering a man overboard in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean. The team went on to win their class in the Rolex Sydney-Hobart Race and the North Atlantic race from New York to Ireland.

Sean is currently sailing with Team Maverick; racing a state-of-the-art Infinity 46. Competing in the classic offshore races; Maverick won their class in the Rolex Middle Sea race and the RORC TransAtlantic race last November, next up is the famous Fastnet Race in August.
